Wedding Photography FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we receive the images?
All images are supplied as jpg images, 12”x8” in size and at 300 DPI. The images are fully edited, colour corrected and supplied in both colour and black & white on a DVD. All you need to do is load them onto your computer and go online to get your favourite images printed. You can also email them to your friends or post them to Face Book, Pinterest, Google plus or any other social media site.

Are the images watermarked?
No the images you receive are not watermarked.

So, do I own the copyright then?
No. The copyright remains the property of Scott Ramsey Photography, however I respect my clients privacy and check first before using the images on my website, blog or for any marketing. An artists copyright by law stays with the person that created it. You do however receive a Personal Usage Licence.

What is a Personal Usage License and what does it cover?
The license enables you to have any print's made and share your images with family and friends for your own personal use. You can also upload the images onto Face Book and any other social media website. You can not, without obtaining written permission from me use any or allow the use of any of the images on a business website or be published in a newspaper, magazine or blog etc. So for example your florist requests a picture for her website, or a local or national newspaper, bridal magazine, wedding blog or even a TV show wants to feature your wedding. In these examples you would need to contact me so I can deal with the request and give permission. I can't list all possible uses that might crop up so if you are in any doubt just ask.

Do you offer prints?
Yes. Prints can be purchased via the online photo gallery after the wedding.

How long will it take to get the disk of images after the wedding?
This really depends on the time of year you are getting married. On average it's 6 to 8 weeks after the wedding date.

I understand you don't want to rush the processing time as I want the best quality images possible. However is there any chance you can email over one or two images sooner?
Yes that will be fine.

I have seen a friends’ album/product that I really want. Can you provide it for me?
Let me know the relevant information and if I am able to provide the product I will let you know along with the cost.

Will Scott be the photographer on the day?

Other photographers offer two photographers on the day. Do you work alone?
Yes on most wedding I do however I can provide a 2nd photographer if required for a extra cost. Some photographers will offer two photographers for the price of one. Often they are a husband and wife team, one has all the experience the other is a keen amateur photographer. They perceive offering two photographers on the day to be a good sales point. But if the 2nd photographer is not experienced you might as well just ask for a friend to take a few snaps. I on the other can provide a 2nd photographer. I have trusted professional and highly experienced photographs that I have worked with and along side many times before. They are working photographers and if available can be booked as a 2nd photographer.

What happens if Scott is ill on our wedding day?
Firstly I recommend to all couples to take out wedding insurance. If you choose the correct cover this will not only cover your photography but also other suppliers. I personally will do everything possible to provide a photographer for your wedding day. I have a network of trusted photographers that I can call on to cover this eventuality. Should I be unable to provide a photographer I will give you a full refund of any money paid. To date, I have never had to call on another photographer or make any refunds!

What happens if something goes wrong with your equipment on the day?
I use professional Nikon cameras and equipment. On the day of the wedding I use two cameras, lots of memory cards and continually check the equipment and that the images are saving to the cards correctly. I also have both public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance, to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

What area do you cover and do you charge a travelling fee?
I cover the UK and I am happy to travel abroad if required. I regularly work in Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex, London, Kent and Hampshire. Travel of up to 50 miles from my office (post code BN16) is included in the wedding photography price or quote. A £50.00 travel charge applies to cover a wedding in London. If your wedding location is over 50 miles from Scott’s office or abroad then travel expenses will be charged. Please contact Scott to find out more.

We love your wedding photographs, can we meet up and have a chat?
Yes, first contact me to check that I am available on the date of your wedding. If the date is free I am happy to arrange a meeting. I can visit you in your home if you live within 50 miles of my office. If you don't we can arrange to meet up at a half way point such as a coffee shop or maybe the venue. Another option is to use Face Time or Skype.

Do you charge VAT?
No the price you see or are quoted is the price you pay.

I’d like to book. What do I need to do now?
I require a booking fee of £250. This will secure me to photograph your wedding. The remaining balance is then due no later than 2 weeks before your wedding date.
