It might have been raining and a bit dark last weekend however nothing could stop residents in my village turn on the Christmas Lights.
The East Preston Christmas Celebrations event had been organised by the East Preston Parish Council (more info here) with help from local businesses and volunteers, and they really did a great job. The day was jam packed with events from Morris dancing to a visit from Father Christmas who set up his Santa's grotto in the Village Hall. I did think about queueing up so I could give Santa my Christmas present list but I didn't want him to get me confused with that naughty chef Gordon Ramsay! or a cast member from the TV show Neighbours ;) So I decided against it leaving the children to enjoy all the fun.
The day concluded with the grand turning on of the Christmas Lights (regular readers of my blog will know I love photographing community life and traditional events) so I grabbed the opportunity to take some photos, I hope you enjoy these very festive photos.
So, may all your Christmas present buying be easy and the sellotape roll never run out! Till next time, Scott the photographer.
