Documenting Life In Brighton - Photographing The Rise And Fall Of The British Airways i360

Thankfully after 30 years I still have a passion for telling stories, and when the story is right, I don't always need to be commissioned to pick up my cameras. Heck, the day I stop wanting to document life and share the story of a city, and its people is the day I'll retire.

Dunkirk Evacuation Operation Dynamo 75th Anniversary In Ramsgate Kent

The Kent town of Ramsgate commemorated the 75th Anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation, code-named Operation Dynamo, recently with a weekend of war time themed events. A Spitfire gave a fly past, bands played and 1940s music filled the air as visitors mixed with historical re-enactors dressed as WW2 soldiers along the quayside. However the highlight of the weekend for me and the reason I was attending with my cameras was to photograph the returning Dunkirk Little Ships.

The 8th of May 2015 marked the 70th Anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) and the end of the second world war in Europe. Many of the services and events were held in London, however local communities were also encouraged to take part. Saltdean Lido A Derelict Art Deco 1930's Lido in East Sussex

Built in the late 1930's, Saltdean Lido looks rather unloved and sorry for it's self as you catch a glimpse of it whilst traveling along the A259 coast road in East Sussex, UK. This derelict art deco Lido has been closed for several years with only local seagulls able to enjoy the open air swimming pool. Once a must go to place for holiday makers during the golden age of the 1930's over 160 Lido's where built across the UK.

Wassailing at Tarring Village in West Sussex

Banging and chanting filled the air on the Eve of the Twelfth Night (5th of January) in the ancient village of Tarring in West Sussex, UK. 'Waes Haeil' was the cry as the annual Wassailing at Tarring awakened the tree spirits on a cold winters night. Green men, dancing, shouting and toast in a tree all part of this archaic ritual.

Arundel By Candlelight

It was a cold and frosty December night, as I headed to the Arundel By Candlelight Christmas event to take some photographs. Arundel is a small market town famous for it's medieval castle, antique shops and historic buildings. The River Arun runs through the town which is very popular with tourists and day trippers. Each year the Arundel Chamber of Commerce organises the Christmas event and supported by local traders the town centre is filled with Christmas lights, market stalls and  thousands of visitors enjoying the festivities. This years event was no exception, and as......
