Commercial Photographer - British Army Soldier Military Photography Shoot

Understanding my client's needs is essential for a successful commercial photography shoot, and I work hard to achieve this before, during, and after a photography shoot. This image is taken from a set of photographs I created for a global software company that develops products for military, intelligence and national security, healthcare, financial, public and private sectors.
I spent two days on the assignment recreating and photographing military scenarios that showcased the company's software. Working alongside members of the company's software development team, marketing team and personnel from the British Army, authentic images were essential, so every aspect of the photoshoot was scrutinised.
And it was on the last day, just as we started to pack up, I suggested the idea of photographing a soldier, directly looking at the camera, as if it was a computer screen.
I'll admit announcing my grand idea at the end of a busy day wasn't perfect timing by me, as we were exhausted and pretty much running on empty, but everyone agreed it sounded like a good idea, so we cracked on and made it happen. And it was so worth it; my client loved the final photograph.
And it just goes to show that inspiration can strike at any time, and sometimes you've just got to grab another coffee, knuckle down, and make it happen!
