Recently I was hired for a Commercial Photography shoot in Kent. Safe Home Security, a Kent business that specialises in home security, needed some new photographs to promote the business and showcase its services.
So with the help of my assistant, Mihai, I spent the day creating a set of photographs perfect for my client's needs, and here's a selection of some of my favourite images from the photoshoot. As you can see, I've created a good selection of what I call working photos to demonstrate the services the business offers. I also created my trademark 'Hero Photo, ' perfect for a business's website social media account.
The photoshoot was a great success, even though we had to rush to get the outside photographs taken due to bad weather approaching (you can see the rain clouds in one of the photos). And most importantly, the client was delighted.
I often tell my assistants that a successful commercial photoshoot consists of several things.
You must have the ability to create engaging, storytelling and creative photographs. The photographer or their assistant must have the ability to direct people. They must remain professional at all times, and lastly, be prepared. From preparing the camera equipment to drawing up a shoot list before the assignment. Always have a plan A, B and C.
And lastly, expect the unexpected!
