UK Photojournalist And Editorial Photographer - Concorde's Last Flight Cardiff Airport Wales
As the old saying goes, 'Time Flies When You're Having Fun', and how true this is. I had time to look through my photo archive recently and was surprised when I discovered that many of the photos I thought I had taken a few years ago were taken over 15 years ago!
Back in 2003, I had not long left my staff job as a senior photographer at a News Photo Agency. The editorial world was changing, and I was being asked to become a paparazzi rather than a news photographer, which was definitely not why I became a photojournalist. So I handed in my notice and returned to working as a freelance photographer.
And here's one of the first stories I covered.
Concorde was being decommissioned, and I had heard that the supersonic aircraft would be arriving at Cardiff airport as it took its final tour around the UK. So I grabbed my cameras (for those interested - I used a Nikon D1H back then), filled a flask with coffee and headed to South Wales.
And here's my photo, taken some 17 years ago!
