From Homeowner to Nomad: Capturing Asia Through a Lens
It's finally happened! After over a year of planning, I can now share my next big adventure.
A few months ago, Indie (my girlfriend) and I packed our bags and jumped on a plane to Indonesia to start our new travelling life. We sold the house, cars, furniture, appliances, clothes and even my tweed jacket to make this happen, and thanks to our wonderful friends and supportive family, we are making our need to travel and explore reality. For the foreseeable future, we will be travelling throughout Asia; the first stop is Bali, then on to Malaysia and Taiwan, and after that, who knows?
I guess some might ask, but why? Well, sometimes, you need to roll the dice and see what happens. Some might think us crazy, others foolhardy, but those who know us understand that we can't just exist; we must live our lives!
Thankfully, we are now in a lucky position to start exploring the world for a while and, hopefully, make a positive difference to some of the people we meet along the way.
As we travel (we'll change countries every two months), I'll look for new stories to share and concentrate on creating photo essays and films about the people I meet and the cultures I discover. Thankfully, it will be without the restraints of needing to sell the project or find a backer.
While back in London, my handpicked professional team of creative photographers and videographers will continue covering assignments in the city, the UK, and Europe for my current and future clients. For larger projects that require my unique style, I'll jump on a plane and head back to shoot the assignment.
So that's it, the secrets out.
I'm now homeless and carless, and it's a fantastic feeling. I have a camera, a backpack, a beautiful travel companion, and an entire world to explore.
Let the adventures begin 📷
