Fiona England is mum to 11 year old Dan who has Down's Syndrome. Fiona is 50 years old in December and in anticipation of this she's aiming to swim 50K - in 5 epic 10K swims - in rivers, lakes and the sea to raise money for charity.

Each year the Winter Solstice is celebrated in a unique way in Brighton, East Sussex. On the shortest day of the year (December the 21st) the city is filled with light and its residents are roused from their winter slumber as lanterns are paraded through the streets. Accompanied by loud drumming and whistles being blown the Burning The Clocks event awakens the darkest of winter nights.

Preston Park Velodrome in Brighton is the oldest cycle track in the UK and was built in 1877. I was surprised when I first heard about it as I have covered many photo assignments in Brighton over the years but for some reason never heard of the track. Researching it further and discovering its history I soon decided that it would make a great photo project. And so one lovely Autumn's day in October I visited the track whilst a charity cycling event called 'Pedal In Preston Park' was being held.

I think that I have probably photographed every angle possible of this famous Brighton seaside attraction. At day, night, during the summer time, winter and spring.
